BTW, I did the exact same thing as you are planning to, except I waited for a 6k roll, and I was moving up from 50c/1$ to 1$/2$ [img]/images/graemlins/blush.gif[/img]

The new book the Mathematics of Poker has a whole section dedicated to this using win rates, std dev and maths to maximize your Sharpe ratio which is essentially what you would be trying to do (it equates to EV).
