Default I need a good book

Any suggestions?
Just finished Einstiens Dreams by Alan Lightman and loved it. Im looking a little more for books that make you think as compared to just telling a story.

Lets hear some recommendations!

Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy is my latest favorite book. Read it.

Probably my all time favorite is Sometimes A Great Notion by Ken Kesey.

I'm reading the Rum Diaries right now.
I'm enjoying it, but its not much of a thinker.

Someone also gave me a copy of The Botany of Desire which I am reading while I'm on the throne. Its pretty interesting.

A couple of great recommendations in Catch 22 and Sometimes a Great Notion, but if you want to think a little extra I suggest All Quiet On The Western Front.

I've been reading Big Bang and I like it. If you have a university-level background in science, though, the science explanations will likely seem too simplistic to you. But it's still a good story, full of biographical detail, amusing anecdotes, etc...not to mention it ties in nicely with Alan Lightman's book. Of course you could always just read Einstein's own survey...it's a pretty sweet read.

Mr. Thompkins in paperback by George Gamow.

It explains, in a way that most people can understand, the theories of relativity and quantum physics. It will definitely make you think about the world in a different way.
