PayTru Visa / Bank Foreign Fees!
Ok so it goes like this... I have been using Paytru no problems as far as Deposit/Withdrawals all ok.
Obviously for $200 they charge you $208.50 $300 = $312.50 $500 = $520.50 Problem is, im noticing these foreign fees now being associated along with these loads onto the card. I belong to citibank and havent called them yet but I definitely see a pattern... for example: Each $312.50 load from my bank also had an additional $9.38 foreign fee that same day. $208.50 had a $6.26 foreign fee that same day. $520.50 had a $15.62 foreign fee the same day as well... I will call and find out wtf they are but the 4% vig is already included so im a bit confused as to what these fees are from? My bank? Cant be... |

Re: PayTru Visa / Bank Foreign Fees!
Yeah Citi has to be charging a 3% fee for something... I cant see how they can charge me for a cash advance, its a debit card, made to be used for that purpose (cash withdrawals)... So im a little confused as to WHO is charging me an extra 3% and for what?

Re: PayTru Visa / Bank Foreign Fees!
The Pay Tru card is with the Global Bank of Commerce which is located in Antigua. YOUR BANK is charging you the foreign fee because you are dealing with a bank outside of the U.S.
I assume you are depositing to pstars, so why don't you pay a flat $9 fee and use moneygram? Use Pay Tru for withdrawl, not deposits, unless you enjoy paying fees on top of fees. |

Re: PayTru Visa / Bank Foreign Fees!
I didn't get a foreign fee, but for a $200 load, I paid $208.50. And got hit with a $15 cash advance fee by my CC as well as a $3.78 finance charge on my monthly CC statement. So ended up paying about a 16% or 17% vig by the time it all ended. I immediately trashed the PayTru card and sucked it up and opened an ePassporte account.

Re: PayTru Visa / Bank Foreign Fees!
Yup, banks just trying to line their own pockets (obviously). For instance most MasterCard providers here in the UK charge cash advance fees. The thing is each bank has their own policies with regards to certain transactions; if you shop about then you will find more "friendly" banks. I wouldn't necessarily cancel your payTru account though as you can still use it for withdrawals.
