I've done that and Fatburger in Vegas. Can't say I was hugely impressed. Still a fast food Burger. Any decent diner burger is better.

1) Browse Chowhound.com Los Angeles Board - more LA food info then you can handle.
2) The original Nobu restaurant is actually Matsuhisa on La Cienega - go there. Check out The Ivy, too in BH just to see and be seen.
3) Getty, yes.
4) If the Santa Ana winds are blowing, the beach will be 80+ and awesome.
5) LA food silliness - Tommy Burger's, In & Out, Pink's, and Tito's Taco's (WLA).

The Ivy is a see-and-be-seen place, but the food has always been god-awful and obscenely expensive for the lack of quality. Food is better at Newsroom across the street, and it's a lot more fun, though criminally loud.

In-N-Out is extremely overrated. The burgers are decent for a fast food burger, but they are not even up to Whataburger quality. And the fries are absolutely gross. They taste freeze-dried.

Getty is a must.
Malibu is arright depending on weather.
Culver City if you wanna see some studios.
Hollywood is arright if you have never been there, but there is little to see (unless your are gunna watch the kimmel show).
Beverly Hills has a sick good mall. IDK what its called, but its full of superficial ppl, and spoiled little kids.
UCLA might be interesting to see. Its really close to Beverly hills.

Downtown Huntington beach is fun. Its an 30min drive on a good day from downtown LA. Well worth it if you like beach life and bars.

Other touristy places I've taken friends from out of town to:
- Newport Beach
- LA Citywalk
- Sunset Strip (Saddleranch, Standard hotel, Lucky strike bowling etc...)
- Hollywood sign
- Griffith Observatory
- Marina Del Rey
- Boat ride to Catalina Island via San Pedro
- Santa Barbara
- Venice Beach

also if u like movies and whatever u can goto Universal studios or paramount and check out the backlots...definitely touristy.

I could go on and on, LA is definitely a very touristy place.

I am going to LA in a week. Is there a chick-fill-a around? I'm from toronto and am very curious.

Also, what about mexican food?
