Default *NFL Survivor* - Week 1

Who do you guys have this week?

Arizona, Philly and New England all look to be popular picks.

ARI, NE, and SEA are the obvious picks to me. But honestly, I don't particularly want to take any of those three. SEA is on the road, and I really don't trust Kurt Warner, which leaves NE as my default play.

However, part of me is considering taking Carolina at home. Is this just dumb?

Trust me on this one: NEVER take a road team. Never, never, NEVER, never NEVER.

This is probably the only week where you can use ARI with any confidence (first home game in new stadium, against a 49ers team with a terrible defense). So might as well get them over with, so you can save SEA and NE for later weeks.

That doesn't make sense. Carolina should be one of the stronger teams in the NFC. Surely they'll have an easy game later in the season. Also, Atlanta isn't a bad team. Arizona is only a middling team, they might not have another easy game all year.

The problem is that no one has played yet. SF is "supposed" to be bad. Carolina is "supposed" to be good. But PHI was "supposed" to be good last year, and they weren't. That's why the first few weeks of Survivor are a crapshoot until you know who the good teams are.

Count me in on this. Seattle prior to last year has traditionally been a bad road team and they have plenty of easy home games later; taking them would be dumber than the Rams on the road last year. NE has some soft home games later too. Cards have their easiest home game of the year this week.
