It looks like AP has admitted to Casinomeister there are "offenders". The statement is vague but it appears this means they have changed their stance.

IDK dude, it's hard to read much into a single word choice, in an email that is likely to be from some barely-English-speaking support drone.

[/ QUOTE ]

If that is what it turns out to be then I'm sure that would get them steps closer to the CM rogue pit. If CM rogues them the search engines will take notice.

fwiw, i got a phone call from an AP rep yesterday offering me some big bonuses/promo and i asked him about this situation and what AP were doing about it.

he told me that accounts had been closed as a result of their investigations but he wasnt sure exactly for what reason as he wasnt in the security dept. apparently they(AP) will also be making a statement on the issue when they fully resolve the issue.

i also told him that AP should have an official rep here and he agreed

again, take it fwiw but thats the bones of the conversation i had with him.

I should play these guys heads-up, since I have no soul they'd never know what hit 'em.

Also, it's such a shame that even a legitimate discussion about rigged online poker being relegated to BBV.

I apologize for the rambling on, but I guess the gist of my email is to ask the question; how should/would we/you proceed if you were Absolute Poker (and No; I am not affiliated with AP)? I think they are in an extremely tough spot with no obvious solution.

Just my 0.01 - 0.02 cents ....

The best solution from my point of view would be, if the whole case is subject to a voluntary audit by a certified audit company. If Absolute will not do this on a voluntary basis then I would recommend that the Kahnawake Gaming Commission insists on such an audit. If this is not done thisway the whole case will be a stain for all Kahnawake poker sites. Alternatively all open questions could also be processed behind closed doors in a small audit commitee, in which experienced poker player as for example Adanthar and other known experts could participate.

The following question, however, would also be of interest for me:
- How can it be that one person can open several accounts with Absolute?
- Why the safety measures of Absolute have not discovered the incidents much earlier?
- Whether the Absolute software has ever been checked by external experts and whether some kind of attestation exists?

I have read also the two Absolute related articles of Justin West on www.pokerpages.com. I do not know Justin and his past articles, but his way of argumentation sounds already very well-known to me. In one short sentence his central thesis is as follows: A poker side is not rigged because they earn enough rake. He stipulates an innocence assumption which I cannot follow. As long as with on-line poker no extensive controls are accomplished, I cannot derive an innocence assumption, because everything is possible and no preventive protective mechanisms exist. I am no dreamer and I rather would wish myself that at least this extraordinarily case is cleared up by an external examination.

Nevertheless Justin wrote in the pokerpages forum the following:
[ QUOTE ]
The “rogue more programmer” thing is really the only explanation if, somehow, the more player is seeing the gets cards. But again… I that find highly doubtful.

[/ QUOTE ]
Unfortunately he did not explain why this is highly doubtful. Or does he really think this can normally not happen because Absolute earns enough rake.

justin's article, like the muppets in the internet gambling forum with their regular, standard, "online poker is rigged threads" focus too much on motive, and not enough on evidence.

it just happens that justin's article takes the opposite conclusion from the motive to others.

Yes, the smarter business owner would never risk their business because of too much greed.
Hmmmm, how many companies have gone away recently because the owners got too greedy? Besides ENRON, Health South, Arthur Anderson, and so on and so on. I am not saying AP had any direct involvement in this episode, but they have made significant cuts in support personnel recently and it has been seen at UB since they bought them, too.
What can AP do? Maybe they should immediately roll back the software to where it was before all this started.

I have been contacted by a user who claims to have been diddled in Omaha at Absolute.

I assume I'm going to have buckley's chance of reading O8 limit HHs - Is there someone who is able to check through them?
