$5 HU sng - too slow?

BB (t1305) Hero (t1695) Preflop: Hero is Button with K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Hero raises to t90, BB calls t60. Flop: (t180) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) BB checks, Hero checks. Turn: (t180) 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) BB checks, Hero checks. River: (t180) 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) BB bets t300, Hero raises to t900, BB raises to t1215, Hero calls t315. Final Pot: t2610 I'm thinking the check on flop might not be so bad, but I think a turn bet would be a lot better than a check. River might as well be a shove instead of raising to 900. Villain has been pretty tight, and I've been raising IP a lot with a wide range of hands and he's been calling a lot of them and surrendering on flops. |

Def. bet turn, and if the dynamics are right you could justify a bet on the flop too.
Sometimes the best way to disguise your hand is to play it straightforward. |

Re: $5 HU sng - too slow?
Bet the flop or at least the turn. The problem with playing so slow is three fold: First, it will be very hard to win a lot of chips when the pot is only t180 on the river. Second, what could he be calling you preflop raise with? Chances are good that he hit something, or has some sort of a draw. Don't let him miss his draw for free - build the pot in the meantime. Lastly, alot of cards can kill your action on future streets. |

Re: $5 HU sng - too slow?
Don't pay any attention to squareview, he's just a troll who writes retarded 1 sentence posts in HSNL and everyone thinks he's an idiot and probably most people have him on ignore.
Anyway, bet turn here, it's a pretty draw-heavy board, so you might as well get some value out of a guy with a little something before he misses, or get value from a guy with a pair before the river is a K or A and scares him off. I personally will almost always bet the flop for the same reasons, but if you have a read that it will scare him off, it's not horrible. A lot of people think the worst reason to slowplay is you'll get drawn out on, which is clearly not the case here. The real danger here is that the board can come so ugly that the guy will not pay you off with hands he might have called on the flop and gotten more committed with. If this guy has like J9 or Q7 or something and the turn is a K, A or heart, you're going to be playing a much smaller pot than you would like. |

Re: $5 HU sng - too slow?
it depends, if he calls with strong hands preflop i bet the flop cuz HU people will push hard thinking ur stealing and u might get more action cuz he cant put u on this big a hand, if someone checks flop and turn i will put them on a straight on the river reraise, thats why this is a $5 buy in here tho.
