Default Flop resteal

Sunday warmup.

I have been moved to this table recently. I have ElkY to my left. I know he's a high stakes SNG and MTT pro, but other than that I don't know much about him.

I raise from the SB because Harrington says I should raise any ace here. Considering my relatively weak hand OOP, I obviously wasn't thrilled that ElkY called. Him being a seasoned pro I figured that he could be making a play with ATC, since I'm just another unknown donk in a sunday tourney.
Is this fancy play and "I want to own a pro" syndrome?

Gross. If you want insist on trying to take it away here, CR is the only way to go - you have absolutely no FE with your 4-bet (he's getting like 4:1 on the call). He definitely doesn't have ATC much of the time at all.

I like a CR here for the same reason that I'd hate a CR with 88/44/33.

Playing bvb this way without reads is a leak. "He could have ATC bc he's a MTT pro" is not a read and is incorrect. My results improved significantly when I stopped doing this [censored] in bvb. The 3bet shove is bad bc you have zero FE here and are never far ahead. I would limp pf, but raising isn't horrible probably. But you have to be aware of stack sizes bc in this spot b3bai is no good. As others have said, crai is better. As played, I would fold.

Other dudes, do you generally raise here PF? I must say completing is more of a default play for me...

Actually I thought that I had just enough left to make him fold if he was making a move. Also the 3-bet with zero FE looks so strong it might actually have FE, I dunno.

Although my hand do have showdown value, there's really only 5 cards that will make me happy on the turn, so I'd rather shove it in now if I might actually have the best hand.

Result: He actually folded(!) and gave me a "nh" in the chat. I think he either folded air or a hand like a pocket pair, with 2 outs to improve. I can't see him folding any kind of draw or anything with 5 outs to improve here.

The line is probably crazy and next time I'll probably c/shove. At the time I was just thinking "I connected, I bet".

I'd rather complete PF. That gives me an option to do the shoving myself if Villain elects to raise.
