Default 1/2NL LIve Set on Monotone board

Late position, about 9 hours into the session the Villian and I both have about 300 effective stacks.

4 or 5 limpers and I make it 15 in Late position with AA.
Get a couple callers.

Flop AT8 all diamonds.
I bet out 35 and a guy in the blinds thinks for a good long time before finally calling. Everyone else folds.
Turn is the 3 of diamonds.

Villian open pushes....

Have not had any history with this particular villian as he and 2 other guys just joined our table from a broke table about an orbit or two ago.

Auto Fold?

Yes auto fold. If he has a smaller set he just made a suicide bet.

Make it $20 to $25 preflop. Pot the flop.

Regardless of the 4th suit coming on the turn (definately a fold), anytime I have seen a monotone board and a villian take a passive line on the flop and then suddenly lead or raise on the turn it's been a flopped flush.

Over aggression on the flop hasn't always been a made hand however.

I agree pf, $15 just isn't going to get the job done. I don't know about potting the flop, 2/3 to 3/4 will get the job done. Auto fold to the 4th flush card push.

This is very useful analysis.

I also agree that with 4 or 5 limpers LIVE, PF needs to be bigger.

By "isn't going to get the job done" do you mean get everyone but 1 person to fold? I think it worked out pretty well. You don't want everyone to fold, and having 2 callers isn't all that bad (in position). But, I would probably raise it a little bit more -- to $18 or so. You probably still get 2 callers, but rarely 3.

He bet $35 into a ~$53 pot, which is about 2/3 of the pot -- so the flop bet was good.

Fold on the turn to the push. You have 10 outs. You can call about a $40 bet, maybe as much as $80 (implied odds), but the $250 bet is way too much to call with a $370 pot -- unless there is about a 40% chance he's bluffing -- not likely.

I thank everyone for the thoughts.

However, to everyone saying the raise was not big enough, at this particular table anything bigger would most likely just take it down pre flop.

$15 would maybe get a caller or two.... I wanted to go larger, but I really didn't want to only take down what was there right then.
