Default Did the PS3 drop regionality?

Just a quick one. Did they?

Also, would there be any other problems i might run into if i pick a PS3 up while in vegas then bring it back to the UK and buy UK based games? PAL NTSC problem can be outcome by using HDMI right? Anything else?

Thanks.

I don't know the answer to your question, but I was wondering if the DS was regional as well? Sorry to hijack, but I didn't want to start a new thread.

I'm pretty sure the PS3 is region free.

Apparently the PS3 is region free but only for PS3 games. Which seems incredibly stupid to me, but that's Sony for you.
