UTG+1 pushes after limping in and after you make a standard raise = fold. Just [censored] risking this with JJ so early; find a better spot (which shouldn't be too hard given at least one players fine preflop play).

Why do so many people in this forum not want to "risk it" so early in the tournament?? I don't even know what that means.

Hero has the best hand and he is way ahead of villain's range. He's 82% against all the 55-TT crap villian is pushing. Even against AK, KQ, etc, he's 55%. And villian almost never has QQ+. It's a call.

That's funny, when I am browsing in this board, I often wonder why people want to "risk it" so early in the tournament. I think it means that doubling up in the first hand means only little more than jackshit, while losing simply costs you the tournament. FWIW, if I know that one or two of the donks behind me love to raise multiple limpers, I autolimp my monsters.

Yea, I know "why" people don't want to risk it......I'm just saying that when you're crushing your opponents range, it outweights the ICM reasons towards not risking it.

Doubling up early means nothing? That's way off. If you play turbos, most of your losses (I would guess) come from being relatively hand dead / action dead early on and getting short-stacked in later rounds. Chipping up early is a big, big deal (though, obviously, you still want to play tight).

That said, I'm calling here a lot. He either has AA or he has 22-TT: I like your odds.

The key for me is that he was 2nd to limp. I call and would have probably folded if he was UTG.
