This town is going surprisingly nutty for ASU. So I watched yesterday's game. What a disappointment it was, particularly since they've apparently had OSU's number all season. Here's hoping today goes better.

The start was odd. The starting ASU pitcher got yanked after the first inning having given up 2 runs. They said he wasn't hurt but OSU seemed to have his number. Pretty weird. I missed the first inning but he gave up 2 runs which isn't good obviously but isn't terrible. Then the guy they put in gave up 4 in the second.

Nice explosion by ASU in the 8th to extend their lead. Then they imploded in the bottom of the inning to allow Irvine to tie it.

But, what the hell is that "Win probabilty" thing they brought up.

Dunno, but the probability of it being retarded is 100%.

I agree, because they had it up when UC Irvine was up in the bottom of the 9th with a runner on 1st and 3rd 2 outs. It said that UC Irvine had about a 64% chance of winning and ASU 36%. I'm wondering how ASU has a chance to win considering that they can't get up again unless Irvine gets out. So it should be ASU 0% and UCI 40% or something.

Anyway the game is a good one. I don't have a rooting intrest outside of hoping this game goes another 3 innings just for the fun factor.

Not sure how I feel about the nickname "Anteaters," but they definitely gave me the most enjoyable baseball game I have watched in a couple weeks. Do these guys have any chance against Oregon State or Rice? I'm assuming that their loss came against one of those two teams.

I was on the team (UCI) until the beginning of this year but couldn't get over shoulder surgery. So unbelievably jealous right now. Anyway, this game along with yesterday pretty much decimated our pitching but who cares such a sick game. We'll probably have to throw a freshman tomorrow.

BTW I got to a bar in the 6th inning, stayed through the 8th. There wasn't sound. Why did they keep showing that fat Mexican-looking kid in the UCI dugout? He was a pinch hitter, got a walk, was taken out, end of story. The way they kept showing him it's like he was Rudy or something.

I went to Omaha in 2004 during my sports reporting days. It was an awesome experience. Great week of baseball, and the town absolutely loves the CWS and everyone bends over backwards to be accommodating to everyone.

Great CWS Championship Primer

UNC takes it down this go around. The Heels will become the first ACC team to win the CWS since Wake Forest in 1955. UNC Closer Andrew Carignan is a beast.
