On my map it looks pretty far away. About half the length of the strip.

Circus is close to nothing. It's in BFE. Sahara and Riviera are the closest neighbors. Wynn is a bit of a hike. Don't try to walk to/from Rio during the summer from the strip, and absolutely not from Circus...it's a LONG hot trip.

The ONLY reason to play there is to if you have kids and want to be able to hand 'em $50 and say "have fun" and not see 'em again for a while as they disappear into the amusement park.

IP is fine. I actually kinda like the poker room, but don't like $200 NL1/2 much. But I still visit 'em every month or two and earn a steak sandwich worth of comps by playing 5 hours.

No shuttle from Circus to Rio. MGM/Mirage owns Circus, Harrah's owns Rio. You gotta pay for a cab. And then wait forever in the cab line to get back; dunno how long the wait is, but when I walked past last weekend about 5pm the line of people waiting for cabs looked to have like 60 people in it, and there weren't a lot of cabs pulling in.

I stayed in a room at IP that was facing Harrah's, and there was loud music outside until ~3 AM and the walls of my room did absolutely nothing to keep it out (it was just as noisy in the room as on the balcony).

Just don't stay there. I know the reason you want to stay there. You want to stay there because its cheap. Its cheap for a reason. Its cheap because it sucks. Well, thats not entirely the truth, but its true for the reasons you want to stay there.

The cheapest rooms...the ones you want to stay there for....in a nutshell, are the most gawdawful rooms available on the strip. They are called Manor rooms. They are behind the main casino and hotel and in motel style rooms. They suck bad. You do not want to stay there.

Its not like I'm a high class guy. I stay at IP lots cause its cheap. But unless you are springing for the Tower rooms at CC, have a high tolerence for children intermingling with your gambling/drinking activities, and enjoy walking ridiculously far distances, there are better options than Circus Circus, even at discounted prices.

3 friends and I stayed here the lats week of May for $49/night. As for the negatives, the room was outdated, kind of small, and the bed wasnt the greatest (but nothing horrible). Of coruse, we were 4 college students that passed out every night so we didnt care. Make sure you ask for a room overlooking the pool, which is what we had. It wasnt noisy at all except for when the Luau thing was going on a couple of times around 7pm, which didnt bother us.

We all agreed that we would gladly stay at the IP again when we go back. Cheap as hell, poker room was soffffffft (dealers did fine, real cute Asian one named Jinju), and the cocktail waitresses were surprisingly really good looking.

Highlight of the week: sat down at 2am at the 2/4 table drunk as piss with $100, blacked out at the table after shots with some British guys, unblacked out around 530 with $220 and ran like the wind with my $120 profit.

Definately recommend the IP for ballers on a budget heading to Vegas, good luck

I echo the 1-2 NL game isn't much at IP. The dealers are below average. You see far too many short buys making for a small amount of cash on the table and a crappy rake in full effect. No auto shufflers either making it painful at times....oh but they do have huge tables!

I just think for a good location to great poker without having to take a cab makes it a great place to stay. Wether you play ANY poker at IP is up to you.

Circus Circus is just so cheap that with the cab drive combined each day for poker would be about the same as just staying at IP. Therefore, IP is the better way to go. Several people have told me IP is just fine.
