How is being able to synthesize immediate correlations into a logically derived theory that can later be applied for functional purposes more [censored] myopic than stopping at immediate correlations?

I would add nothing to the bill of rights, except "don't ignore these amendments" to #9 and #10.

Of course not. The notion of chopping off rights is just very disturbing to me. There is nothing in the Bill of Rights I find particularly troubling anyway.

Remove the words "or prohibiting the free exercise thereof" from the 1st ammendment.

Oh I've got one. Remove everything after "congress shall pass no law" in amendment 1.

Forget the second amendment; there's no reason to outlaw guns regardless of the bill of rights.

I'm in favor of keeping the second amendment because it's one of the few obstacles to the authoritarian regime the US is trying to become. But I don't consider any document to be some holy text beyond criticism.
