$1,000 Live QQ First level
Blinds are 25/50, 10k starting stacks.
I'm not entirely sure on stack sizes, but I think I had picked up a couple pots so I had the table lead, but were all still relatively close. I'm UTG+1 with QQ and raise to 150. I get 6 callers (maybe I should raise more?) Flop comes 358r Your play? |

Re: $1,000 Live QQ First level
someone want to explain check folding?
i mean, more often than not no one has a set, and it could easily get checked around, and 6 people seeing a free card is bound to hurt us. Bet fold makes sense, cause peopel dont raise here light, but i think you can get it it heads up or 3 way vs ranges that dont kill your hand by betting. We'll have to play cautiously on the turn, but seems way better than just giving up... |

Re: $1,000 Live QQ First level
the problem with checking isn't that it can get checked around, it's that if somebody bets you should probably call, but then get lost on the turn. so c/f is probably better than c/c. but is betting like 600 into a 1k pot with an obv overpair really going to get called more than 33%? probably not, so I'd go ahead and just bet and shut down when called unless the guy that called the bet looks like a super live clown.

Re: $1,000 Live QQ First level
PSB eliminate some of the field. I know this is the first round but man is that alot of callers. were you seeing alot of callers on previouse hands? If so then yea you should have bet more pre, if not standard raise and [censored] happens.

Re: $1,000 Live QQ First level
i think the problem with bet folding is that when we bet and get raised we have to fold, and when we bet and get called, we presumably check most turns (except Q turns and some others) for pot control and most opponents will fire with any pair, set, 2 pair, gutterball etc. putting us in a bad spot. i mean sure it seems weak but I really think when we bet we end up getting to showdown with the winning hand, or take it down here like 25% of the time or less.

Re: $1,000 Live QQ First level
I kind of like checking the flop OOP. Would you cbet AQ? Aren't you kind of turning your hand face up. If you check, someone probably bets, and you find out something if they don't. It seems easier to check/call or checkraise. If it is raised to you, you have an easy fold, and lose 150 on the hand.
