Foxwoods- 5-10 Live...River Decision..

End of a 10 hr session at Foxwoods ..5-10 NL playing 8-handed. History with villain. He sees me as tight, aggressive, and willing to lay down pretty big hands with big bets. (i.e. I folded trip kings (J kicker) to K862K rainbow board to another nitty player who 3 barreled in a 3-way limped pot and bet big on river).. Read on villain is solid tag, has not made a play on me yet and havent played any big pots together. He usually C-bets in multi-way pots with hands, and checks when doesnt hit. This hand confused me though.

Game has been pretty loose PF and ive decided to join the fun to loosen up PF to protect my straddle.

Hero ($1700 behind)-UTG live straddles to $20. MP player calls, Villain ($3K) on button raises to $80. All fold to Hero who calls with Qc7c. MP ($2K) calls.

Flop comes Qx5c8x. I check MP checks, Villain says "lets see a turn card".
Turn is 10c. I lead out $150, with TP and flushdraw. MP folds, Villain re-pops it to $400. I think for a while and decide to not re-pop bc struggle to put him on a holding so I smooth. river is 2x. I check. Villain puts out $700 immediately.

Preflop is not good imo. There are a few busted draws on the river, would he raise the turn with a draw?

With your image, I'm leaning towards calling here, since he could be making a play on the turn with KcJc, AcXc, JTs, etc...the lean towards calling line has me thinking that HE's thinking "[censored], this tag just called my RR on turn, I gotta get him off his hand on the river."

Basically, I think he's got you dominated (set of 10's maybe, 2 pr, str8) or air, but it's a tough decision either way.

obv pf is loose. The way the game was playing, I think flopped set fires out C-bet, and definitely 10-10 does too as well as if he caught any pair on the board. The hand that was sticking out to me was Jc9c or AcKc.

TT, QQ, 55, 88, J9 and some unlikely air type hands.

the player you have described will very rarely be bluffing in a live game, even against you.

Did you have any read on him? With no read it feels like he had a monster hand. It's pretty common in a straddled pot, where "Goofy" plays are all to common for him to have flopped a hand he was sure to be good, and felt like giving away a free one since he had position and was confident of having you smashed. His check tells you he's weak. Did you play any other pots with him that he opened in late position? He raised PF and checked the button in a three way pot, he wants you to think he's weak. I give him credit for a monster AA's or KK's or AQ. laying down Q7 here was a good muck, look on the bright side at least you didnt push on the turn praying for a club or 7.

I really thought long and hard about pushing the turn. I just had that feeling like an instacall would have happened. After the river bet, I stared him down long and hard and he looked at his cards once and kinda gave a smirk. I just had a big feeling he was bluffing but could not gather the courage to call. I did not recall him playing a pot like that before and that is why I was lost.

results were I mucked and he gave a little shrug and tossed his AcKc face up. He turned the nut flush and gut shot broadway draw and followed thru on the river sensing weakness.
