Piniella will only go to a team that has a shot at winning right away, yeah thats not the Cubs unless they wisely spend their money on top tier players. Hopefully they go after Vernon Wells and Schmidt from SF to pitch.

[/ QUOTE ]

wells is not a free agent, and the cubs don't have the top-shelf prospects the jays will want in return.

They should try to get Liriano and Harden.

[/ QUOTE ]

why not go after willis, cabrera and utley while you're at it

[/ QUOTE ]
I just want to see if a rotation of Wood, Prior, Harden, and Liriano would pitch 200 innings or not Plus why would the Marlins get rid of those two? They never get rid of anyone.

Hmmmm Girardi... Does anybody think they have a realistic shot at getting Pinella? Brennley woudnt be bad either. Anybody is better than Dusty. Well ok not Wendell Kim, haha.

I also think the should give Felix Pie a long look next yr. See what hes got.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'd like to see Pie first hand as well, but not at the risk of bringing him up before he isn't ready. I don't want another situation like Patterson where he struggled early and got booed out of town. Baltimore is reaping the rewards of that fiasco.

What about Daisuke Matsuzaka & Seung Yeop Lee? Both are likely coming to America and both are quality players with proven records. I'd prefer Lee in the outfield before Edmonds, et al.

It won't matter who they hire, the cubs will find a way to lose.

It's what they do.

My contacts in the Mariners organization say that Matsuzaka is in serious talks with Seattle.

I wouldn't doubt that for a second. Nor would I imagine Lee in anything but pinstripes next season. A guy can dream, though....

Not like he had control over the injuries

[/ QUOTE ]

Kerry Wood and Mark Prior say "Hi."

[/ QUOTE ]

You realize that Wood has had injury problems since he was in A ball back in like 96, right?
