Default Micro Question

Hi all.

I have been playing at the Micro tables, and have been following peoples advice in playing Ultra tight. This has been making me win, and very rarely do i finish a day down, unless i take bad beats, or if my big hand runs into an even bigger hand.

Now all is fine and well, that it is obvious to me it is a winning strategy at these 0.05/0.10 limits.

However, my question is: With me simply sitting there waiting for big hands, and playing playing them after the flop if i hit, and folding if i miss, will this improve my poker skills? I just can't see how it will improve my skills at all, as i am waiting for premium hands, and i get out of the pot if i miss the flop or don't have a decent price at a draw, and don't bluff at all, as i have found people at these limits simply call anything, and everything.

Can someone shed some light on this issue, as it is really bugging me that doing this simply won't be improving my poker skills.

Playing the micros teaches you how to play against horrible players. It also helps you develop self-control - and money management, without investing a large sum of money into the activity. The only way to truly learn is from experience.

And I think aba20 said that improving players should play atleast 1,000 hands a day and post two hands a day. That's what I've been trying to do.
