Re: 1/2 Live Big Draw
[ QUOTE ]
I'd give up unless villain gets scared by huge bets. A bet here is going to look extremely suspicious because of the turn check to a decent player and he'll look you up. [/ QUOTE ] If he is that decent then doesnt he know that I would normally check behind AA/KK for pot control as well as a boat/draw. Im not sure he is that decent. My read is that he has TT-QQ and isnt in love with his hand. |

Re: 1/2 Live Big Draw
I pussed out and checked behind. he showed TT and I mucked; but I was interested to see what you guys thought about a river bluff. Im not sure how much would be optimal and how often he releases.

Re: 1/2 Live Big Draw
I might play it differently.
You re-raised him preflop, which would usually give off the message that you have a big pair. Also, you re-raised him strongly on the flop. It's not unreasonable to continue to represent a big pair and proceed with the semi-bluff. Now you'd check behind on the turn with AA/KK to keep the pot small, but it's rare that you encounter an opponent that would realize that. So I think if you wanted to represent a big pair and get him off his hand, you had to have bet the turn strongly. The turn check gave you a free card, but also made it much more difficult to launch a successful river bluff. It's risky though, commiting so many chips against an opponent who you claim has a hard time releasing hands. You played it just fine though. |

Re: 1/2 Live Big Draw
I think since you r/r preflop, a turn bet has high expectation.
