Default NL 5 - playing the flopped set

Villian is 79/29/2 over a asmall sample. No other reads. Thoughts on all streets appreciated.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.02 BB (5 handed) internettexasholdem.com

Hero ($6.34)
BB ($3.13)
UTG ($8.74)
MP ($4.61)
Button ($1.61)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
1 fold, MP calls $0.02, 1 fold, Hero raises to $0.1, 1 fold, MP calls $0.08.
Fairly standard play. I'm raising my eights pre-flop to extract max value if I hit the set ot to take down the pot with a CB if I miss.

Flop: ($0.22) 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets $0.22, MP calls $0.22.
Ok I hit but I don't slowplay it. Play the CB exactly the same way with a pot-sized bet. Hmmm... he's calling on a rainbow board with only a bit of straight coordination. Maybe he connected a p[air here? I don't have much of a read on this guy but need to be careful cause his WSD% is only 20% and he tends to win more than 1/2 of the time when he gets there.

Turn: ($0.66) 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets $0.4, MP calls $0.40.
Not a great card cause it could have completed a straight. Is this the time to slow down here?

River: ($1.46) 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, MP bets $1.5, Hero ???

I slow down here cause I'm worried about the straight but I could have induced a bluff bet. Any thoughts?

Call is definitely +EV here. You collect from bluffs, two pairs, weaker sets, and you're beat only by T9 and some fives. I don't like reraising as we encourage weaker hands to fold.

I don't think you should've slowed down on the river
I think it's pretty unlikely he called through the streets with a 5. Most likely he hit top pair or has some sort of random two pair given his range of hands.

Easy call.

Wouldn't be surprised if he turns over A5 suited...
