Angel Largay Quizzes
Hi all,
Just going through Largay's book, and on quiz 1, of the Reading the Board Chapter, the 7th board reads: [Ad Qh 2c] [Ts] [4h]. From this board you have to state the top 20 hands, which i have done correctly, however for 18, 19, and 20th best, largay has: AK, KK, KQ. It seems like to me it should be: AK, Ax, KK, where the 'x' can represent any card. Is this a mistake in Largay's quiz answers or am i missing something here? Cheers |

Re: Angel Largay Quizzes
Also in the next Quiz, with a board of [5d 4h Jc Qs 5c].
According to the answers in the back of the book, an AQ, is better than a QJ for this board? How can this be? AQ would give two pair Q's and 5's, yet QJ would give Q's and J's 2 pair? Am i missing something here? Maybe i am as i am only learning the game. Cheers |

Re: Angel Largay Quizzes
For the first one I'd give AK, AJ, A9 as the last three.
And I agree the second one also has to be wrong. |

Re: Angel Largay Quizzes
Either he mistook Qs and 5s in his mind as Aces and 5s, or there's some deep paradoxical reasoning going on.
Any links to his expertise and history that are nonobvious you guys could provide? What percentage of the book is for newbies, these quizzes scare off more experienced players... I vaguely recall a 2+2 comment by Malmuth or Christianson (sp)... too difficult to use the search engine, anyone have a link? IGHN |
