Default top 2 vs major heat

Villain is 42/30/2.5 over 2500 hands. He is bad in the sense that he will cold call 3bets PF OOP with 32s, but plays decently enough postflop that he might be a slight winner. I see him run bluffs from time to time, but nothing crazy.

5/10

5-handed

$1700 stacks

Villain open-minraises UTG to $20 (he does this fairly often and my read on him is that he usually does this with weaker hands, not premium stuff), CO folds, Hero calls on button with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], TAG BB calls.

Flop ($65) K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

BB checks, Villain bets $65, Hero calls, BB folds

Turn ($195) J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

Villain checks, Hero bets $169, Villain raises to $565, Hero calls

River ($1325) T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Villain shoves for $1050

Given your read I 3bet pf. As played I probably call the river the turn makes a lot of semibluffs possible and kk/jj are unlikely so the only thing beating you is 33 or 44. Actually I probably shove the turn come to think of it.

I shove on the turn to shut down any semi-bluff flush or straight draws. I'm only really worried about 44, or 33 here. those hands are highly possible given the information you described, but on the turn with no flush, no str8, and holding top 2 pair, I'm inclined to push here as I have most of his possible holdings beat.

I don't like the river at all. Given, if he was chasing a straight he just completed, but based on his previous bets, I don't think this is as likely.

My instincts on the river tell me I'm beaten by a set. all in all though, you're still getting about 2.3-1 on your money here, it would be tough not to call the river.

If he has a set, you'll know on the flop or turn action by reraising the flop.

this is bad imo. raising the flop is unnecessary. def shove the turn and i wouldn't be surprised to see AK or AA here

Why is raising the flop so bad here? KJ, that hands looks better than it actually is (rookie hand). Dump the hand on the flop if it's no good before you get into more trouble.

Are you trying to say slow play this hand? LOL
