Why did you bet the flop?

You don't need protection here.
You don't get action from many worst hands.
You don't want to build a big pot.
You don't allow him to bluff at the pot.

But as played, I think you have to check and fold.

Preflop is fine, but depending on the villian, you are going into the flop facing a very small range of hands the villian holds and being out of position. In these situations, most of the times you are looking to flop big or get out.

Luckily for you, the flop didn't come 7 high, theres much more decision making there. The king high flop puts you in a lot of jeopardy against his range now, b/c the one big reraising hand, AK, just got there.

I like a check/fold against a lot of tight, ABC style players. I like a check/call against someone who is capable of a resteal on the button, and there are a lot of players like this, or if they are really crazy, a check/raise maybe. I would like someone to respond with how they play the hand against different villians.

I do think though, that your standard play here is check/fold.

How is the button? Does the 3bet light? Has he gotten out of line?

I don't know why anyone has suggested 4 betting this preflop to 30-35.

As played, I don't see why you bet the flop- you're not folding out AA, AK here.

check flop. and I half call and half muck depending on player. I only call the flop to re-eval the turn.
