Default How to Defend Yourself Against a Bobcat Attack

How much of a bad ass is this guy? Not sure I would have the composure to do this. Letting the cat scratch and bite you while you try to choke it doesn't sound like fun.

Man chokes attacking bobcat.

Final thought: How many 5 year olds would this guy be able to handle? I think it's 50+

Well, if they bite him and he becomes rabid, I think he kills about 3000 before the rabies drops him.

Heh, I just read this 10 seconds before I hit refresh. Good instincts ftw.

I was wondering about the pressure it required to successfully choke it to death.

I was thinking it would take a good amount of force to accomplish. We can most likely imagine how much force it would take to choke a strong dog to death, maybe not as strong as a pit bulls neck, but probably approaching that general range?

Twice as large as a house cat but typically smaller than the related Canadian Lynx, the adult male Bobcat averages 36 inches (90 cm) in length, and weighs from 16 to 30 pounds

Hmmm...not that impressive - the cat looks kind of scrawny.

Also, funny how all the pics are "coutesy of" the guy who was attacked.

You guys might mention it was infected with rabies for those of us too lazy or too afraid of getting rickrolled to click on the link. No way a normal bobcat attacks a human for no reason. Kind of creepy - like Rage from 28 Days Later. It's not that hard to imagine rabies mutating into some form that affects humans that way.

[/ QUOTE ]I was only commenting on the supposed badassness of killing a ~20 lb animal.
