BCS NCAAF - Every team who deserved a shot this year, got it!!

One good thing about College Football this year, is that, despite all the complaining by various teams, every team that deserved a shot for the National Title got one.

Florida - One loss in a tough SEC and almost lost their spot to both Mich and USC. But, they proved they deserved it tonight. Clearly.

tOSU - Unanimous #1 all year, No question they deserved and had their shot.

USC - Had destiny in their own hands, and could have been sitting where Florida was (playing tOSU), but shot themselves in the foot with the UCLA loss. Had their chance and blew it.

Michigan - Had their shot and argued for another. Even those still arguing for the rematch lost their steam after the USC loss in the Rose Bowl. Case closed.

LSU - They lost to Florida, so it could have (would have?)been them against tOSU if they beat Florida.


Other

Boise State - Just not a tough enough schedule. Plus, in hindsight, would they want to undo their game and win against Okalahoma, one of the greatest bowl games ever?


Final thoughts. How big were these two games this year?

Oct 7 Florida/LSU
Dec 2 USC/UCLA

Not to mention...Nov 18 tOSU/Mich

Depending on how things played out, it could have been
Florida/tOSU
LSU/tOSU
or USC/tOSU

Great year. Nobody should be complaining , at least not about missing their shot at the National Title..

Teams "deserve a shot" based on the regular season, not post-season results. Bowl results shouldn't affect who should have gotten in.

I agree. This only "semi" applied to Michigan. Most people thought they had their chance, I just thought it was relevant to point out that even the holdouts are not making that arguement after the Rose Bowl.
