Re: KK Nonstandard Line vs Preflop 3-bet
Assuming villain's range is JJ+ and he knows taht you know that, I think you played teh hand fine. You are ahead of his range and any raise you make says that you want to play for stacks.
Your flop check is the only part of the hand that I question. Betting makes sense if he only check-raises with AA. If he is capable of check raising with JJ+ then I like the check flop, call down option. You got a hand that has showdown value to showdown without risking your stack. I'd say that (based on your read of villain) you played the hand fine. |

frank,
If he would C/R JJ+, then we should be betting the flop and calling the C/R AI or pushing or whatever |

frank, If he would C/R JJ+, then we should be betting the flop and calling the C/R AI or pushing or whatever [/ QUOTE ] You really want to push with an overpair here? Look at villain's stats. Our hand really can't handle a flop check raise, so the time I want to bet is when villain will call with a worse over pair or check raise with a monster. That way I maximize my win and minimize my loss. The way this hand was played pre-flop, I really can't see a good reason to get stacked. Folding KK to a flop check raise on that board is not a weak play. |
