Default NYT_Mohegan Sun expansion will reopen poker room

Today's New York Times reports that the Mohegan Sun expansion being unveiled later today will include the return of poker to that venue. No details provided beyond this: "In a reversal, poker will be brought back after several years’ absence. Mohegan Sun ended the game just as poker took off on television."

I thought Foxwoods bought the "rights" to have a poker room from Mohegan. Why else would it have taken so long for them to get a poker room back. I played there when they had the old one. It was very small. Perhaps to expand and open a large poker area. idk.

That would be, um, a violation of anti-trust laws. Yes, those do apply to Native American tribes.

the report only gave a time-table for the other hotel. is everything else on the same schedule? 2010 isn't exactly around the corner.

Other amenities would include: a 2,700-square-foot retail outlet; 4,000-square-foot quick-serve dining venue; and a 15,000-square-foot, multi-level, high-energy, branded restaurant/bar. Finally Foxwoods will have some competition. I am still hopeful that the dog tracks open up a card room someday. Probably not but who knows.

See you at the 'Woods for the next two years anyway!
