I may have missed a bet.
Live 10/20 game playing 8 handed.
A very laggy asian opens UTG. His range here is likely any 2 broadway and any ace. I 3 bet next in with KhQh. A bad loose player calls 3, the Sb calls 3. The LAG then caps, a move I havent seen him do before. It is likely his holding is stronger than i initially supposed. Everyone calls. The flop is K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. He bets, i call, everyone calls. Turn is the 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. He bets, i raise, 2 others fold, he calls. River is the J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Do I beat enough to bet? |

Re: I may have missed a bet.
I think its an easy bet. I can think of so many hands that you beat and only a few that beat you.

I actually like checking here. If the river wasn't a jack, then it's a bet though.

Even then he may not pay off. Villain can easily have JJ, KJ, AK, AA here. That's 18 combos. Gimme 18 other combos we beat that are gonna call us plz. |

Re: I may have missed a bet.
QQ, AJ, KT, TT, other discounted stuff like AQ w/ Ac and random underpairs like 77 or 66 or other random hand he would cap with.
I don't think its that hard to put villain on an underpair without a club. I see this player make that calldown all the time. The thing is, if you are going to discount hands like TT no club, you have to discount hands like KJ and JJ because he's a LAG and didn't put more action in. I mean, I know what you're saying; live players get scared of monotone boards when there is a raise on a big street, but he's a LAG for a reason. You aren't accounting for the fact that he's bad and will call with all kinds of stuff. Honestly, if he gets to the river, I doubt he's folding any pair. If this was against your random LP fish, its a check though. If he's a smart LAG its also a check. |

Re: I may have missed a bet.
When he calls your turn raise it magically turns into a free-showdown. Check.

This is one of those spots where I think for a few seconds, realize who I'm playing against and just say "[censored] it" quietly and ninja 4 chips in. Putting in bets against retards: Do this often |

Re: I may have missed a bet.
Apparently this is results oriented (title...) but anyways, I don't think you lose in the long run either way, but I'm leaning 65/35 to value the river, I think he calls w/ any pair.

Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]?
i'm usually checking the river unless he does the classic "chips in hand to call" when he checks thing. in that case i would bet. fwiw, i'm checking the river because when two bets go in on the river we're often smoked but he's stupid enough that we've gotta pay off. if we can fold to a raise, i would def. bet. |
