Re: please rate my play !! was a correct laydown? or too scared one..
Raise more pre-flop. Lead turn. As played, I would call the river.
If I were the villian, I'd raise you with any two cards because you look terrified of the flush. Edit: I just realized my replies were getting close to the replies I hate getting, so let me elaborate. Pre-flop, raise more. You are OOP and you have a great hand. If you flop an overpair (which is what you are most likely to flop), you want to have a big pot and try and stack someone. You are also charging extra for someone having position on you. Lead the turn. He doesn't always have a flush. He often has one of the many straight draws, A8, TT, JJ, and other holdings. If he raises you on the turn, he probably has a nine or the flush and you can safely fold. If he has a draw or some other weak made hand, you are losing value by not betting the turn. Betting weak on the river (unless you also do it with monsters) is a poor play. It tells your villian how you feel about your hand. If he picks up on it, he can raise you with any two cards and take the pot away from you (he could be stealing with A8 because he realizes you are weak). As played, either check/call or bet 2/3-3/4 on the river and fold to a raise. Because you showed so much weakness on the river, I think you have to call getting 2:1. His range got wide as soon as you looked really weak. |

As far as the hand, I call that every time - your check on the turn and little minbet on the river is representing a big Ace that missed. If I have position, I'll fire on the river with just about any 2 cards because it looks to me like you've just given up on the hand. 90% of the time a hand that has you beat (9 or flush) will fire on the turn when you check. Given the way the hand played out, I'd expect to see AK/KQ/KJ/air here far more often than a 9 or a flush. I'd also play it differently - I think you need to fire again on the turn. If villain raises your turn bet you have a decision to make, but your hand is just too strong to check there. |

[/ QUOTE ] I don't think he's necessarily bluffing every time - he could be betting his pair of Kings for value thinking it's the best hand. |
