Default 1000NL - So I take a shot!

villain in this hand is a a 3/6 and 5/10 reg. I usually just play 2/4 but I see him in the bigger games every day so I assume he's a solid winner. I see him as LAGgy, and my stats on him at the time were ~35/22/3 (all 4handed, small sample).

Button in this hand is the reason I'm at the table. He is a massive fish, running at like 70/1.5/3. He peels EXTREMELY light and also pays off very light. He's also a habitual bluffer.

I should also mentioned that I have been playing a solid TAG game at this table so far.

Blinds: $5/$10

haha you got owned

he knows you dont have a boat, dont have a T, he knows your hand is 77-aa . so whatever his holdings are i like his checkraise. I'd be more tempted to call IF i felt he knew i was taking a shot at this limit.

Basically if you think he views you as weak tight scared money, the more i am inclined to call here.. Because of this i think in your spot i call. (edit: and if i lose at showdown i think it would be to 44)

meh I don't think he sees me as "weak tight scared money". Can we talk about what you people think he is leading this flop with? Given the presence of the massive fish, I think it's somewhat unlikely he leads in this spot with a flush draw. So is he really going to play a mid-pair like this and then turn it into a bluff often enough to make this a call? Ugh.

why not?... you dont really want the pot to continue 3 handed.

are you slowplaying? i dont see why you would ever just call the flop multiway, seems like asking for trouble.

and raising the flop make the pot easier to play IMO

Shouldn't our main goal be to maximize expectation rather than creating easy decisions?

Of course, so maximize your equity until you have it, on turn against 2 opponents it may become very, very small

he could easily lead flop with say 66 77, and on river given your line cr ai is about 50x better then calling with that. You dont have to raise the flop, but its ok to also do that, but by no means is it mandatory call or raise, both are fine under different circumstances.

I think given your line you should call, however i think betting the turn has merit because a T could easily be in your range, and i think you can safely fold to a checkraise.
