Another thing, Most people in the record industry that were famous before the years 1999/2000, are filthy rich...

Reasoning: Because thats before napster (peer to peer file sharing), high speed internet, and cd burning really became popular...

Back then, you HAD to buy the cd/tape if you wanted to listen to your favorite band...

And that is where the "POP" music fad started to emerge, because all these record companies know the only people still BUYING music, are 13 year old kids now...

yes people before 1999/2000 are rich... so are people that came after 1999/2000!!!

the neptunes first #1 wasn't until 2001 for example

also, you didn't have to buy the tape/cd before 2000, copying CDs was already becoming popular and people were duplicating tapes and recording songs of the radio for 20 years before that

Cd copying wasnt popular until the late 90's early 2000's bra... Neither was high speed internet, nor p2p... Barely nobody had high speed or a damn cd burner in 1998...

And yes, people were "dubbing" tapes, but someone still HAS TO BUY IT FIRST, to DUBB IT. And plus, dubs sound like trash, while CD's sound great...

P-diddy/Jay-z, as far as money made from the RECORD INDUSTRY ONLY, are by far the richest due to all the reasons i just mentioned above...

Seriously, did you not live through that era or something? This aint rocket science...

super tool, STFU already. diddy and jay-z are rich because they own labels as well as sell records, not because they were putting out records in 1996.

If you're talking about producers, a lot of those guys are making sick money just selling beats. If you believe what people are saying in songs between 50-200k depending on who you are. Timbo being at the upper end of that threshold.

T-Payne is apparently rich as hell just selling ring tones.

Album sales are about the least effective way to make money in music right now.

You STFU, SO i guess nobody in the record industry complains about p2p file sharing and cd copying... Yeah, i must be lost...

Hmmm, i wonder why they complain about those things? Maybe because they aren't making as much money as they could be?

Hmmmmm.....

diddy/Z both sold tons of records before that time period hit, thus making them tons of more money than most producers nowadays, since you simply cannot get those types of record sales now. Thats why diddy/Z >>>> any other producers now...

End of story, Thx goodbye
