Default NL10: Recently active JJ against trip ace board

I'd raised the last 4 hands pre-flop (Though I'm 15/9 overall), so I gave my opponent a wider calling range than usual. If re-raised PF, I think I can get away on the flop, but the smooth call confused me a bit.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (7 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

MP1 ($14.50)
Hero ($14.15)
CO ($6.95)
Button ($3.60)
SB ($12.45)
BB ($10.20)
UTG ($10)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
2 folds, Hero raises to $0.35, 2 folds, SB calls $0.30, 1 fold.

Flop: ($0.80) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks.
Should I bet here to define where I am? I figure my jacks are good here, unless villain called with A-x OOP.

Turn: ($0.80) 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $0.5, SB raises to $1.5, Hero calls $1.

When he check-raises I start leaning towards the smaller pairs or maybe K-7? I figured that the (roughly) 2-1 odds were good enough to call here.

River: ($3.80) A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
With the 3rd ace hitting, I'm even more confident that I'm ahead, but not enough to re-raise.

SB bets $2, Hero calls $2.

Final Pot: $7.80

Any suggestions are welcome for any/all streets. Also, how big a bet would you be willing to call on the river?

Donīt forget you might have to call another bet, and you are very unlikely to improve. So itīs not really like 2-1 in the end.

I was talking specifically about the pot odds on seeing the turn. I needed to pay $1 into a pot of $1.80.

Yeah trebek...in retrospect, betting out on the flop definitely is better. The previous hands I referred to in the OP were all taken down by me. 2 were folded pre-flop and 2 were taken down by c-bets. Even so, it's still probably a better line since if I bet flop and get raised, I can re-raise and fold to a shove (I suppose?) which might be cheaper. I'm still a bit fuzzy as to the best line given my recent history at the table.

[/ QUOTE ]this is what he was talking about to. You can't really call it 2:1 because there will likely be a river bet. If the hand ended on that bet then it is 2:1

edit again: your math is also off. you have to pay $1 to win $2.80(.80+.50+1.50) so you're actually getting 2.8:1.

My mistake...I was looking at seeing the turn in a vacuum as opposed to the odds on seeing both the turn and the river. I understand figuring the river bet on pot odds to make it to showdown, but I thought this was a situation where I could call, then re-evaluate on the river (especially if a Q or K comes down as these are the only cards that change my winning hand to a loser, if I'm ahead at this point.

UGH!!! You know, for a math major I make some pretty f'd up math mistakes when I post here lol. TY jessy.
