Default Question about daily variance

For you guys who do 3000 hands plus per day, what would your "usual" swing be, ie + or - how many BI's?

I'm ramping up the number of hands I play and I'm finding the daily swing a bit nerve racking at the moment, just wondering whether down 2, up 3 is normal easy or wild. (or down 3 up 2 as it was yesterday)

i think 2 buy-ins up and down is like normal day variance. however it also highly depends on your play. tagish is less daily variance and Lagish is more variance, can be up to 3 buyins down or so!.

I think the most I've lost in 1 day is 6 bi's, but I've only been playing for a a couple of months. I'm guessing 10-15 is easily in the range of probability over a long period of doing this.

I think your winrate comes into play in figuring this out as well as your play style. I'm very tight at the small stakes and put in 3-5k hands a day with 6PTBB/100 winrate and have very rarely lost more than 1 buyin by the end of the day.

8.95PTBB/100 of NL25 - 20,000 Hands
2.19PTBB/100 of NL50 - 23,000 Hands

NL50 is where I had my downswing. 4 of those bi's were lost to 2 outers on the river. I just don't think it's that uncommon.

Mine's easily 10BI down when I play lag. But I've had 12-15BI up days too with that.

My worst when playing more tag is 7BI down, which was last Friday, funnily enough, where I had the horrible feeling my cards had turned transparent. My play was still the same, it's just every bluff was called, every lagtard ended up with AA when pushed, every monster was folded to before the pot got big, and most races were lost.

I find I go up 3-4, down 3-4 fairly regularly and quickly. You have to also remember near the end of a 4k+ session your brain isnt going to be nearly as sharp as it should be, causing swings.

Average day for me is +/- 3.5 buy-ins. I'd say 75% of days fall in this category (obv more +3 buy-in days than -3 buy-in days). Anything more (good or bad) is unusual for me, however I have had a significant number of +/- 5-6 buy-in days. My worst day ever is -9 buy-ins.

A typical day for me is around 5-6 hours of 12-tabling.

When I lose 4 BI I stop playing and go do other stuff, so that's the most I'd lose in a day.
