Is it $54.40 for you to call? If it is I'd fold. You're getting good odds but he's never bluffing here and you've all but said you have a set. However betting $12 into what looks like a $35.50 pot on the turn is [censored] stupid. Bet $24 and try to get it in without needing a huge bet on the river. Play it that way and you have an easy river shove regardless of the card.

Ugh, this is so ugly.

I raise pre-flop myself, but limping is ok.

Don't min-raise the flop.

Make a real bet on the turn.

In this spot I like to (1) bet flop like 6,50, call a raise and checkraise allin on the turn or (2) bet flop and threebet allin to protect your Bet-3Bets with a flush/combodraw. I don't like checkraising with sets... But if you want to make it like 14-16... And lead out for 2/3 of the pot on the turn and shove river... As played fold the river and bang your head against the wall for minbetting/raising that flop and turn...

Pre-flop is fine. Post flop you failed to protect your hand or extract value.

Once the flop comes and you make middle set, there are three possible situations:

1) Your opponent has a made hand that you beat (likely).
2) Your opponent has a made hand that beats you (NOT likely).
3) Your opponent is on a flush or straight draw (likely).

Since the two most likely situations have you currently ahead, then you want to extract value. Since it's also possible that your opponent can catch up and overtake you, you want to protect your hand. Betting accomplishes both of these.

Don't check the flop. Bet out. All the check-raise does is inform the villain that you have a real hand and let's him off cheap if he has air. Bet at least 2/3 the pot to deny correct pot odds to draw. A pot-size bet is even better.

Same deal on the turn. Same deal on the turn - You're betting partly for value because you are likely ahead and partly to charge your opponent too great a price to draw.

On the river, it's read dependent. Since you say you don't have a read, well, you're getting better that 2:1 for a call. But it would have been much better to bet more and get all-in earlier in the hand.

thanks for the comments guys, very much appreciated. I realised how fking stupid the min CR on the flop and the weak turn bet was as I read my own hand history. have taken all your points on board.
