this FT seems more exciting and tense than any other FT at the wsop. The tension must be enormous on deciding whether to draw or stand pat and even more so when you await the faith of a drawn card.

This is BJ Nemeth, your faithful final table reporter for PokerNews.com.

I hope y'all enjoyed the coverage of no-limit 2-7 draw lowball, because I had a lot of fun covering this event. (I only covered Day Two -- Day One was handled by others while I worked the limit hold'em shootout.) There was no announcer, and it wasn't on a stage, and there weren't any monitors. But I was able to set my MacBook in my lap about seven feet from the table and type away while I watched the action. I loved covering this event, and like many of you, I am jonesing to play it.

I don't know in what capacity I'll be covering the Main Event (it's an all-hands-on-deck situation, as you might imagine), but I will bust my ass to provide hand-for-hand coverage on the last two days.

I'm actually sad that the prelims are over.

Favourite moment: when Chau Giang raises an odd amount from UTG (IIRC), and Steve Zolotow just from that can put him on an approximate hand (remember, we're talking *5* hidden cards here). Now, Giang tries to be sneaky and pretend that he placed the wrong size bet by mistake. Lederer then butts in and puts Giang on pretty much his *exact* hand.

Lederer wakes up with a strong hand himself, and opts to play. And from his action, Giang then puts Lederer on *his* exact hand!

It's downright scary to watch.

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't consider myself easily impressed but that, was, sick.

Thanx for the links guys and thanks for the coverage of this 2007 event.

Poor Chad Brown. Guy keeps making FTs but can't quite finish the job. He's like the Buffalo Bills of poker. They kept getting so close in the early 90's but couldn't win it all.

Yeah, he doesnt seem to be a good 'closer' at all. Steroids will mess you up like that.

Despite the low opinion of him here, his results are quite impressive. He makes a lot of FT's.

What makes this an event for degens? Is this a high variance game?

[/ QUOTE ]

1)It's 5 card draw (one draw) NL, worst hand wins. Straights and flushs count against you, and aces are always high. 2-3-4-5-7 is the best hand
2)It's a rebuy event, so even higher var.

[/ QUOTE ]

It's an "action gambler's" delight!
