About Ed Miller's smallstakes hold'em book

Ok as I know the book is released in 2005 and I wonder if the book is still any good? Because I have read it now and it's all about beating loose players and stuff like that. Of course there are some hints now and then, but do you think it would be profitable to play in small stake hold'em full ring table when following ed miller's small stakes hold'em book instructions and guides?

As I see these tables are so, so tight nowadays. Like 80% are tight players.

Any ideas and options?

It's definitally still the book I suggest most for online games.

Of course you actually have to study the book where it explains the concepts and not just look at the preflop starting chart and assume you know how to play. Most changes for a tight game should be fairly obvious (AJo goes up in value, JTs goes does, etc) but spending a few hours in the Small Stakes Limit forum should give you a good idea. In fact I think there is a recent thread on this book you might want to check out.

I have also pretty good memory and understanding over poker so I have had no problem understanding these concepts that Ed's book introducted. I think I got a good held on them. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

Not all agree with this. The theory in the book is good for all players to know, but most online games do not fit the profile the book describes.

Good table selection will allow you to use this book profitably at the micros and smaller stakes playing poker online today, though admittedly these loose-passive tables the book discusses at length are becoming more and more difficult to find.

Go play 2/4$ live and it'll be perfect for that game.

I agree that most of the examples used in the book will have more players in them then your average online game but the actual poker concepts still very much apply and there simply isn't a better book available.

I used to think the same thing..that after only 2 years ed millers small stakes holdem book has become outdated....that was until I played in Atlantic City where 5 or more players to the flop was the norm...I'm not sure about higher stakes..the limit I play is 10/20..but the saying that internet players are donkys I believe is outdated...I find the online 2-4 and 3-6 games to be tougher on average then the 10/20 live games..so I believe Ed's book is now better suited for live play

It always was better suited for live play. In fact, I'm pretty sure that is what game Ed was playing when he wrote the book.
