Poker in Macau confirmed.

I just got back from there. The Galaxy-owned Starworld casino has a handful of Poker Pro tables. At the time, we were able to fill-up 3 tables.

The stakes were 5/10 (HK dollars) with a board for 10/20 and 15/30. I asked to be put on the higher stakes but there were no other takers.

The buy-in at the 5/10 table was 100-500. The game was pretty soft, populated by passive calling stations. I was able to come out with a 550 profit after playing for just 1.5 hrs.

The Asian poker Tour should hopefully spice up some action there.

I just spent a day in Macau and could not find one poker game. I tried the Wynn, Crown, Venetian and Grand Lisboa. The concierge at each hotel had never heard of Texas Holdem and whenever i mentioned Poker i was ushered to the Carribean Stud Poker tables...

Seems like its a long way off yet from any average punter playing the game.

Hello All,

Would just like to confirm that NL ring games on offer at Starworld currently range between 5/10 and 20/40 HKD. There are larger NL games (and limit) available on request. Rake is favourable to the player.

Additionally, there is now a weekly tournament structure in place:
Tuesdays 9pm: $350 ($300+$50)
Thursday 8pm: $600 ($525+$75)
Saturdays 10pm: $3300 ($3000+$300)
Sundays 1pm: $1100 ($1000+$100)

Poker has been extremely popular so far, and with the above-mentioned tournament, I'm sure this trend will continue. Enjoy!!

hey I was in StarWorld on that Sunday. I played from @pm to 6pm and 8:30pm to 10:30pm.
The after session was 10/20 game..good action. There was a $14,000 pot and many pots above $5,000
Though the evening game was passive..it was still fun.
