Default TomBrooks Suspension

Does anybody know this guy? He's very active in Small Stakes Short-Handed.

He bumped 18 threads about tipping and started a new one. Three of them were in the Televised Poker forum. But, the other 14 were in the Brick and Mortar forum which ended up having the first page dominated by his bumped threads.

A lot of the bumped threads were a year old.

Edit: JBB, the only B&M moderator other than Mat, has not posted since 7/10. He's probably not around to deal with the B&M forum's problem.

TomBrooks is an interesting guy. He can be a perfectly reasonable strategy poster, but if something irritates him, he is very likely to go on an all-out crusade, even if it's pretty unreasonable. In Micro and SSSH, he's gotten all up in arms about me locking or moving bad beat posts, especially in the pre-BBV days. He wouldn't have been one of the first guys I'd guess to go on a bumping spree, but since you tell me it's him, I'm not too surprised. Not sure what set him off, though.

Anyway, I'm not going to plead to you to unban him or anything. He can serve his time. How long is the suspension?

Photoc mentioned to me that he was interested to assist JBB there and I thought it was a good idea.
He PM'ed Cola about it I believe but things were super-hectic then with all the Ed leaving drama, etc.

Photoc told me that he has been a mod on a forum called casinodealers.com for several years or something like that.
He also was responsible for some of the stickies we have in the B&M forum.
I think he would be a good addition.

No. Photoc is a very bad idea. Do not put Photoc as a mod. He is over the top and very annoying. A dealer mod is the last thing we need in b&m.

This is pretty much exactly my experience with him in the pre-split days.

Agree.

B&M stays civil most of the time, you mostly just need a mod to move threads and such.

Exactly. Photoc creates half the problems in that forum with his insane anti tipping police stance. Yes they are frowned upon. No you don't need to whine about them each time. Hit notify mod if you think they don't fit the forum.

edit:

Specifiically i expect he would overmoderate the [censored] out of b&M.

okay.

points taken.

Guess he's getting shot down pretty hard.

But is JBB around as much?
Not sure what JBB thinks of adding another mod there and I'm not trying to criticize.
I don't even know JBB and I only infrequently participate in the forum there and don't see any significant problems.

But is adding another mod to B&M something to consider?

I personally don't think the duties in b&m are enough to justify adding a new mod for that forum unless there is someone that 2+2 already wants to give a mod home too or a current mod takes on an additional forum.

I made it 7 days since he actually had to do a lot of searching in order to bump so many year old threads. He intentionally destroyed the first page of the B&M forum and I"m sure would have done the same in Televised Poker if there were enough bump worthy threads.

Any mod from Small Stakes Short-handed (or any other forum he posts in a lot) can reduce the sentance to any amount they want.
