your examples all give villains worse lows with similar counterfeiting risks. A4, 23, A34, A23 all do better than your less likely A6 and A7 lo hands.

Are you putting villain on A26 or A34?
A26 is possible, but falls into the 'monsters under the bed' category, and you kill A34.

It's not a monster under the bed at all, the pot was limped.

6WWW is a standard limp for just about everyone on the button.

The way the hand played out Hero ended up HU and maybe his equity isn't bad against villain's range. I don't know what this villain's raising standards are. But I think a bigger fly in the ointment is that in many situations we will not have a villain who is helping us to get it HU by raising; instead, we may get called in more than once place (one player with a nut low draw and another holding 6xxx), at which point our equity looks pretty bad. So just because the failure to thin the field preflop was corrected postflop in this particular case doesn't mean that this is generally a good way to play this hand.

This is about the worst case scenario you are going to find here, no? If this was the case then you would be correct in at least check-calling a PSB on the flop.

Everyone seems to be ignoring the fact that villain will often (very at these stakes) have A2 w/spades or at best a naked 6 (than we can catch up to with a spade). If you fold your AA hand every time the board pairs you should pick a different game.

And yes, I think we are all in agreement that this is a must pot preflop.

But all the money isn't going in on the flop. Not until hero raises.

This hand is a lot harder to play because it wasn't raised preflop.

Edit: I should have gone back and looked at the OP. I thought he was putting in a full buyin on the flop. Even still, the OP said he thought Villain had at least a 6. And although it's just another ten, it's still a losing play in the long run to call the flop just because you're getting 2-1. So what? You're going to be forced to call the turn as well because of pot odds no matter what falls.

It would be different if the pot was raised preflop, and hero thought the button was trying to steal a decent percentage of the time. But that's not what happened. He's not protecting a pot that he is continuation betting and could easily have just a nake low draw. If the OP said, I think he probably has a six, but could have just a naked low 1/3 of the time, then thats fine.

Easy there big guy. OP posted this hand so he can get some feedback. Laughing at him or just being rude does nothing but make you look like a tool. Don't be that guy.

OP,

I think a preflop raise would have made postlop play much easier as others have pointed out.
