And this is what makes it worthless.

Hands from a year ago aren't worth squat for profiling opponents.

Waiting a year to catch bots and cheaters is stupid. This means they have been successfully cheating and cashing out for a year. This means those cheated won't have their funds returned to them. Not to mention that the more sophisticated cheaters are likely to change screen names often enough to avoid detection.

Datamining is already happening. Anyone who wants to pay a small few has as many hands as they want. Making it legal would just level the playing field and help prevent bots/colluding/ect.

the ONLY benefit of datamining to the overall game is catching bots and the occasional cheater, which is an incredibly rare instance (not them existing, just them getting caught from a dateminer). And its only a benefit if the site itself isnt actively trying to do the same. Since I have faith in stars, im not worried about it. Stars isnt FPT or AP, its an actually well run company.

I don't have faith in trusting anyone in the online gaming industry

It probably comes from dealing with some of the casinos and quite a few of the sportsbooks

I admit, pokerrooms have less incentives (their money should be coming from rake and not against the players directly)
However, I view everything in the industry as buyer beware and even pokerstars hasn't convinced me otherwise

I have actually been looking at the numbers in PokerTracker and I believe there may be a few bots, once I look more into it I'll post.

It would've been impossible (or just another wild eyed paranoid rant) to establish, without the necessary data and its analysis, that online cheating exists. What you're saying is that data analysis should be done without data -- right?..
