Thoughts on turn play? what do you do on river?

Villain was 40/20 over a tiny sample.
This is an old hand so i cant remember what my thought process was on the turn. I think i checked with the intention of c/r when he bets all his draws.

Poker Stars - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.25/$0.50 Blinds - 5 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter)

Hero (SB): $64.45
BB: $25.05
UTG: $51.00
CO: $81.75
BTN: $50.95

Preflop: Hero is dealt A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (5 Players)
3 folds, Hero raises to $2.00, BB calls $1.50

Flop: ($4) 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players)
Hero bets $2.50, BB calls $2.50

Turn: ($9) A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players)
Hero checks, BB checks

River: ($9) 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players)

i'd have bet the turn, cause i hate giving free cards.

As played i think i'd bet 6'ish and fold to a raise?

Betting turn is probably standard but we never get his stack when he has a draw.

What do you expect your $6 river bet to get called by that we beat?

Yeah, bet the turn about 7-8, club draws are huge part of his range, as are weaker tens that will call down, b/f this river for a little over half the pot.

Guys, b/f river, wtf? I do not get this at all. Are you saying that he is more likely to have a T AND call a bet with it than show up with a flush or straight here?

If he raises, he almost certainly has you beat, but you can get value from weaker tens, aces that peeled the flop light, pocket pairs, A4, A2, if he is that bad, etc.

Firstly we don't really 'want' his stack. We're betting to protect our hand, also for value, but mainly to protect. Chances are you are never going to get his stack in this hand, well from something that doesn't beat you at least.

We expect to get value from Ax, A with 2nd pair, non believing KT etc.

Secondly the bet on the river makes us less susceptible to bluffs after showing weakness on the turn.

Ideal line - Bet turn, bet river.
As played bet fold $6 on river.
In my opinion.
