First tournament money!

I played the 1$ buyin limit MTT at Stars today. I'd never really tried a MTT except for freerolls, so I thought I'd see what it was like. I'll confess I thought it was NL when buying in, but since I'm a limit player just learning NL, it was a useful mistake.

In any case, I far exceeded my own expectations, finishing 13th out of 414! I was shortstacked from about 25 on down, and even hit a straight on the river when I was all in at 18th or so to keep going.

Obviously, the payoff wasn't huge (a whopping $4.56!) and the competition far from the toughest (the final 20 were mostly weak tight), but it was a blast and a nice verification that I don't totally suck at poker after having played for 4 months or so now.

It won't replace ring play as my source of poker income, but it was a fun change!
