Default 999 monkeys banging away at 999 typewriters

I think I am going to retire from posting in Legislation, after the PPA fly-in goes forward this month.

The Engineer is on their Board, they are gearing up to make noise in DC, hopefully they will gear up substantively for writing comments to the Regs (i.e. hold a "what to say" session.)

However, I have little hope that anyone will promote the Wexler Bill, which is the only "poker" bill in the hopper.

I do not expect anything noteworthy AND actionable to happen in the next several months, aside from the Regs Comments. Unless something extraordinary arises, I'm going to go back exclusively to charging for advice instead of giving it away here.

In the meanwhile, please ignore "legal" advice and analysis you see at CardPlayer, G911, or here, it is less meaningful than 1,000 monkeys banging away at 1,000 typewriters*.

(* I should exclude Skall from that characterization)

Guess that makes me one of the monkees. Thanks!

I do agree with your general point, though.

Okay, exclude Wynton also. (Don't feel too bad, I counted myself in reaching the 1,000 total, my departure re-set the total at 999.)

Milton, sorry to see you leave, maybe a small break and slowing down will do the trick.

For me, I don't know jack about politics, but this issue is very important to me, and my vote (and contributions) counts just as much as anyone in this country and this monkey will make some noise.

I think we have done ok since there are still over "100,000 players" at Pokerstars most nights. We will see how the regs shake out.

You will be missed. Knowledgeable and a good sense of humor, rare in legislation.

I do hope in this case you will respond to the bat signal.

First, let me say I am honored (I think) to be excluded from the 1,000 monkeys. I do try and provide some actual legal knowledge to this discussion when I can, as I hope it helps advance our mutual agenda of "clearly legal online poker."

Second, while everyone deserves a break, you will be missed Milton. This Forum is far and away the best source of intelligent discussion of legal issues related to poker on the internet, and your contribution to that was significant.

Its only through feedback and varied opinions that we can refine and strengthen our arguments. When the time comes I too hope you will return with your thoughts and ideas.

Milton while some might not have liked your opinions they were valued by myself and i'm sure many others who are not as adept at interpreting the law. I hope in time you decide to return when more is happening. I agree that as of now not much appears to be going on if the Wexler bill won't gain any steam and until the comment period for the regulations is over.

Enjoy your break and hopefully we will see you sooner rather than later.
