Gild, recruit 3-4 more mods on the condition that they act on porn and racism swiftly and harshly.

[/ QUOTE ]
Some of the forums on this site may be mod-heavy (umm, not that any come immediately to mind) but that one seems to be light when you consider the content and the volume. There are some posters like nath, GA, T-Dog or others that would happily pitch in. Dunno, I'm new here but from what I know that seems to make sense.

I think mods need to be picked very carefully from that group. Anyone who is all about "Free LionelHutz" is likely not a good choice for example, as how you can you possibly expect someone to enforce rules when they're arguing that the rules shouldn't be enforced. This will never happen, but someone like NT! would be a perfect addition to that forum if he was told the only actions he could take would be on things like inline porn and racism.

[/ QUOTE ]

ya i agree.. GA, T-god, BTYS etc... are horrible choices imo to mod. ideally would be me basically! but that won't happen haha, nor would i want it to. kyleb seems like a good choice honestly.

MEbenhoe,

Solid point. That does narrow the field quite a bit. It also makes me think that maybe an outsider who isn't a respected part of that clique but who understands the tone may be the best call. Maybe an existing mod? kyleb would be pretty LOL, he'd have to shut down his business though cuz he'd be too busy banning people to do any actual work.

part of the problem is who the current mods of bbv4l are. I don't really mod the forum at all (I got added there when gildwulf was on vacation and never removed, but it's not really a forum I post in a lot/all I do is delete threads/ban people when someone PM's me.) citanul is not that active there, either, so gildwulf has 90% of the work.

one extra mod would do it, but that person would have to be an active regular.

gild maybe i have a way of insulting people when i'm trying to make a point and maybe that makes me an [censored], but i would not intentionally insult you or try to make you feel bad for no reason and nothing that i have said about this issue was meant to be a knock on you personally, more like your policy in general. if anything you are too nice to a fault, that's all.

adanthar,

i've been quite active in there, but mostly in a quiet way, trying not to step on too many toes.

children,

calm the [censored] down, all of you.

mat,

please to be admin-ing me.

daryn,

you're frequently right, but you have to know that you're quite a bit of an [censored], quite a bit of the time. if you think that's false, then it doesn't matter how often you're right, because you'd be an idiot.

all,

i don't think that the 2nd through 150th occurrences of "omg i told you so, lionel is just a moron" were really necessary. probably the first one wasn't either. half of you are just so happy to have finally been right about anything (and it was a gimme guys) that you just splooged yourselves. get over yourselves.

i think that we need to have a set of rules in b4l that is rigid, but then a follow up set of rule or two that allow for modding flexibility. so a few rules that say:

1) no inline nudity/porn/poop/dismembered animals/etc
2) no avoiding the profanity filter, no racism
3) mspaint counts (even though it rules)
4) ** i'd personally like to see something about homophobia and sexism if we're going to have a racism rule, but i can understand if that's not going to happen**
5) if you think you've found a clever way around rules 1-x, whatever x is, in order to post something you know you shouldn't, you should probably just not post it.
6) mod decisions are final, go cry to your mommy

followed by a rule that effectively says:

the above rules are subject to the whimsy of the mods, who reserve judgment on what is "in good taste."
