Default Spreading Rumors

There have a been a few instances in the Tech threads where people are posting unverifiable crap. I know this isn't a news site, but if we're going to have the discussion is there any policy in place to at least ban these people from the forums that they are screwing up.

Sniper, I don't feel like combing back through all of the posts. Anyone who has kept up with the threads can confirm what I say. I know there's no policy against retarded posts on 2+2. It's just that stupid people are more bothersome in these types of threads. Maybe I'm being a little bitch, complaint withdrawn.

Also, when I say rumors I mean rumors presented as news.

To clarify, I was referring to the Virginia Tech threads. I don't know if that's what you were responding to or not.

What you're suggesting is a practical impossibility. Mods don't have time to police information. Rumors are part of the internet. If you're getting you're news from BBV and OOT threads, you're making a mistake. People read these threads in part to hear unverified stuff that the news media can't report. If you think a post is made up to cause trouble, report it. Otherwise, let people decide for themselves.

I heard that [censored] has quit the internet and is now roaming the Earth like Caine in "Kung Fu", getting himself into adventures and dispensing justice in his own inimitable way.
