Default Coin-flip for $100.

This is a follow-up to my rock-paper-scissors polls.

Suppose you find yourself calling a coin for $100. You haven't seen this coin before. Which do you choose, heads or tails?

heads is supposed to be slightly more likely, but I think if someone was going to rig a coin, they would bias it towards tails because most people pic heads. Therefore, I pick tails.

the game-theoretical answer is to just flip a coin yourself and just call whatever comes up.

I tohught this was wrong, as the "Head" on most US coins is slightly heavier then the Tails side, hence the "head" lands on the bottom more often and leaving like 50.01% of coin tosses tails.

First off, dont flip pennies. They are terrible luck. Also, the first one for any significant amount of money is always heads.

If this flip was against another 2+2'er, I would first nit it up by pointing out that it's "obverse or reverse" not "heads or tails. " Then I'd punch that nerd in the junk and just take his hundo.

Suppose you can choose a coin with two heads or two tails, but after choosing which trick coin to use, you have to let your opponent call the toss. Which coin should you use? If the poll were strongly biased in one direction, you could have a significant advantage even though you let your opponent call the toss.

So far, there doesn't appear to be a big difference between heads and tails. I hoped there would be, just as there was in my rock-paper-scissors polls. People are not good random number generators individually, and sometimes this even means they are not good random number generators as a group.

Done it for €100 and picked tails, it came tails first and then heads 6 times in a row!
