Default (22s) too passive here?

20+2 Regular Tournament

No reads, first hand.

BB = 10

Preflop: Hero is UTG w/ 8d8c
Hero calls 10, UTG+2 raises to t30, Button calls 30, Hero calls 20

Flop: 4d 6d 7d (105)
Hero checks, UTG+2 bets 80, Button folds, Hero calls 80

Turn: Qh (265)
Hero checks, UTG+2 bets 250, Hero folds

This spot confuses me as i feel i should have opened with a pot sized bet on the flop but if i get called or reraised im going to find myself in a tough situation. (Yes i know my preflop limp is a marginal play but these 22's are soft and i like set value when im stacked w/ 100BB)

Thoughts?

I raise preflop and fold to a reraise. Bet the flop and fold to a raise. Since you didn't raise preflop, I play it the same.

I don't think your PF call was bad.

I think if you were prepared to call abet on the flop then you should always bet the amount you were prepared to call. Calling gives you no information, leading can have the plus side of taking it down there and then.

Good fold on the turn.

Raise 88 UTG first hand? I play pre-flop the same, and bet the flop and fold to a raise.

First off, thanks for feed back.

Honestly im not a big fan of raising w/ 88 UTG here, what is the reasoning?

But now that i crunched some numbers i didnt realize im ahead of a decent amount of hands (non diamond over pairs, AdXx), which would make a flop raise reasonable. I just hate getting called and seeing a diamond, A, K, Q, or J on the turn, or run into a slow player of a flopped flush whom is going to probably just call my flop/turn bets and push the river.

If i pot the flop and get called and a blank hits the turn am i potting the turn as well? And what about the river?
