Re: True or False NL
[ QUOTE ]
1)Smooth call all of your opponents raises when you have a playable hand and position . I think that this is style dependent. I think that aggression trumps passivity when you play loose, and passive trumps aggro when you are playing tight. One style requires making future plays, while the other depends on trapping 2)Re-raise or fold when you're oop. I like what Vinetou said. I also don't mind having the ability to steal the blinds. 3)When facing a 3x raise oop , you may smooth call with offsuit/suited connectors . True. If you aren't calling with these, then what are you calling with? 4) You should NEVER limp on the button . I DO limp on the button. Very very false. 5) Bluffing on the river should be banned . False. 6) The only trash hands you should bluff with preflop are the suited connectors . Please define bluffing. You have high equity pf with sc's. If you are talking about three-betting on the button, then false. 7) If you're giving your opponent 2:1 pot odds on the river , then your value hands to bluff hands should be in the ratio 2:1 . False. The value is different isn't it? 8)You should never make a half size pot bet on a drawy board . False, this bet is fine. [/ QUOTE ] |

7) If you're giving your opponent 2:1 pot odds on the river , then your value hands to bluff hands should be in the ratio 2:1 . [/ QUOTE ] i havent thought too deeply about that, but that should only be true if our value betting hands are actually ahead 100%, or not? |

Re: True or False NL
Correct Donkey .
ie , if you bet the river with ace high and you are 66.666% certain that it's the best hand and 33.333% certain that it's the worst hand , then you're betting with the correct ratio . This doesn't necessarily mean that it's optimal . If a player is folding too much on the river , then you may be able to bluff with more hands than game theory would suggest . |

False. Never do anything always. 2)Re-raise or fold when you're oop. False. Never not do anything always. 3)When facing a 3x raise oop , you may smooth call with offsuit/suited connectors . True. Same reason as #2. 4) You should NEVER limp on the button . False. Same reason as #2. 5) Bluffing on the river should be banned . False. Same reason as #2. Do you mean ban from the game, or just ban from your own strategy? Either way, I think it's false. 6) The only trash hands you should bluff with preflop are the suited connectors . False. Same reason as #2 7) If you're giving your opponent 2:1 pot odds on the river , then your value hands to bluff hands should be in the ratio 2:1 . False. This is very similar to the [0,1] question. You need to balance the gain by raising (with some bluffs) with the equity you would have in the pot when you don't raise. So just giving 2:1 odds, and having 2 value hands to 1 bluff hand isn't a good enough criteria. 8)You should never make a half size pot bet on a drawy board . 8) False Same reason as #2. |
