Re: Post your Favorite board game and why
[ QUOTE ]
The greatest boardgame to become a computer game was Civilization which also started out as an Avalon Hill game once upon a time. [/ QUOTE ] Sid Meier, creator of the Civ computer games, says that this is not how it happened. "I had not played that before I did Civilization," says Meier. "I played it later. I remember there were some cards and trading. It was more ancient; it didn't really come into any sort of modern or medieval times." The History of "Civilization" |

[ QUOTE ]
What was the big title(s) that Richard Garfield produced? The name is familiar. [/ QUOTE ] Namely, Magic the Gathering. He developed some other games like The Great Dalmuti(damned good card game for 4-7 players) before selling Wizards of the Coast out to Hasbro. |

Re: Post your Favorite board game and why
Hmm my favorites off the top of my head
Carcassonne Settlers of Catan Apples to Apples Monopoly Life Risk (haven't played axis and allies?!) Masterpiece Stratego Mastermind Battleship: Advanced Mission (this game is infinitely better than the original, to anyone who even remotely enjoys the first this thing is actually fun and strategic) Though they aren't board games Rat-a-Tat Cat and Frog Juice are also pretty fun. |
