Default $16: A couple of hands from tonight

Hand 1:

I haven't gotten to see what kind of hands villain has been raising, but I get the feeling that he was raising a little loose from later positions.

Hand 2:

I've always just shoved in a hand like this without giving much thought. Villain seems to be somewhat tight but I feel like I am definitely ahead of his range but am flipping against most of it. Do you think I have any fold equity here? Is there a line to take that involves calling?

I will generally call hand 1, although i've heard many advocates of folding. If it were suited I would probably push, but a push isn't bad with your holding methinks.

I shove hand 2, but I feel that it's close and struggle in these spots also. You have some FE, but I don't believe that it's always enough. I've seen weak aces here far too often.

Don't think you have fold equity in 2. He is pot commited. You are in excellent shape, no need to take big risks. You have a coinflip at best, i think. Fold.
